An Ode for Lane Guest Ranch
By Matt Williams (guest July 2011)
El Rancho Grande del Senor Lloyd Lane
Resides on a most ethereal plane.
There’s nowhere like it on planet Earth;
Disneyworld doesn’t contain half as much mirth.
At this pristine other worldly place,
An abode of enchanted vastness and Rocky Mountain space,
You’ll never espy an unhappy face.
And fear, stress, and worry-not a single trace.
Like a faithful lover it calmly awaits,
Without hint of pretense or garish entrance gates.
Just a cruise along the sweeping Route 7,
and you’ve taken a short cut right to Heaven.
From the comely wranglers to the venerable cooks
And all the good folks who keep the books,
Every staff member’s job title belies
That they’re all precious angels in disguise.
St. Clarke and St. Paul have wingspans the longest,
And without doubt their tall tales smell the strongest!
But grant these compadres the spoils of age,
Many a year has made each a wise sage.
So if you’ve got the good cent$ to come here,
And you’re partial to critters like horses, elk and deer,
And you enjoy the banter of merry cheer,
And you’re especially fond of free wine and beer,
Then don’t delay! Book you reservations today!!
In case this rare jewel one day fades away…
Because El Rancho Grande del Senor Lloyd Lane
Is like a flowing Colorado stream:
Cool, clear, and refreshing,
Yet healing and serene.
A beautiful glimpse of God’s breathtaking dream. |
